Terms of service
Choner pairs you with another person so neither of you has to keep a habit alone. Using it means agreeing to what follows. We have tried to write it in words you can actually read.
Choner is not a medical service. It is not a medical device, it does not give medical advice, and it cannot diagnose or treat anything. Before you start a new exercise, sleep or eating routine, talk to a qualified healthcare provider, particularly if you have an existing condition, are pregnant, or take medication. If something hurts, stop.
Who can use it
You need to be 18 or over, and the details you give us need to be true. We match people on what they tell us, so an inaccurate profile wastes somebody else's time as well as yours.
Your account
Keep your password to yourself. Anything done from your account is treated as done by you. If you think someone else has got in, email hello@choner.io and we will help.
What you owe your partner
This is the part that matters most, because there is a real person on the other side.
- Show up, or say you cannot. Missing a session is human. Vanishing without a word is the one thing the whole product is built to prevent.
- Be decent. No harassment, no abuse, no sexual advances, no pressure of any kind. A partner is not a date.
- Meet safely. If you choose to meet in person, that is between the two of you. Pick a public place, tell someone where you are going, and use your judgement. Choner does not vet, interview or background-check anyone, and we are not present when you meet.
- Keep what is shared, shared. Someone's photos, messages and reasons for starting are theirs. Do not post them anywhere else.
What you can post
Nothing illegal, nothing that harasses or threatens, nothing sexual, no spam, no advertising, and nothing that impersonates another person. You keep ownership of what you write and upload; you give us permission to show it to the people it was meant for.
Reporting someone
Every match has a report button. A report is read by a person on our team and it ends the match immediately. The person you report is never told who reported them or why. We would much rather you reported something small than talked yourself out of it.
When we suspend an account
We will suspend or remove an account that harasses people, repeatedly abandons partners without a word, posts content that breaks the rules above, or is used to break the law. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why.
Payments
Choner is free today. If we add a paid subscription later it will be billed by Apple or Google under their terms, not by us, and you would cancel it in your App Store or Play Store account. Refunds would be theirs to give.
Leaving
Settings, then Delete account. No email required and no retention conversation. What happens to your data is set out in the privacy policy.
What we promise, and what we do not
We will try to keep Choner working and your data safe. We cannot promise it is always available, that you will be matched, that a match will suit you, or that your partner will show up. They are a person, not a feature.
To the extent the law allows, Choner is provided as it is, and we are not liable for injury, loss or damage arising from exercise you chose to do, from meeting someone, or from anything another person on Choner does. Nothing here removes a right you have under Sri Lankan law that cannot be signed away.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that affects you, we will tell you in the app rather than quietly editing this page and moving the date.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka.
